Mentzelia involucrata is a member of the Loasa Family, commonly known as the whitebract blazingstar. The hairs on these plants are very stiff , with little hooks at the tips that act like ‘velcro’ and grab onto clothing. Individual annual plants can form a round short lived bush up to a foot tall forming brilliant displays of these pale yellow flowers.
